CGI
While at the National Film and Televison School I undertook a major CGI module that took me through all the major steps of creating photo-realistic computer generated images to be integrated with live-action footage. In the module 'Take One Painting', the class was taken through the process of being involved in a film shoot and how to collect the correct data from the set which was in this case derived from a painting by Samuel van Hoogstraten. With the camera and set data we camera tracked several sequences from the shoot using The Pixel Farm's PFTrack so that we could intergrate digital set-extensions. Structural extensions and props were modelled with Autodesk Maya and textured to match the live action footage. The final images were then composited with Eeyon Fusion. This experience has formed the basis for all the subsequent digital work that I have undertaken, combining it with work in Photoshop, Mudbox and ZBrush.
